Visiting New Orleans

Welcome to New Orleans — we can’t wait to see you downtown! Please refer to your confirmation emails ahead of time to map your routes from MSY Airport to your hotel and to the symposium venues. Please also remember that the Sunday evening keynote and welcome reception (7-9pm CT) will be held in a different venue from the Monday-Tuesday sessions (all venues and addresses can be found in your confirmation emails). All venues and hotel blocks are in the same general area, within a 7-13 minute walking distance of each other.

Uber/Lyft Ride from MSY Airport

For the fastest, most convenient ride, walk down to the ground level and exit to the street across from Baggage Claim. You’ll find the Ride Share waiting area on the other side of the pedestrian crosswalk after exiting the building.

Public Bus from MSY Airport

There are also two public-bus options:

  • RTA 202 Airport Express — Run by the Regional Transportation Authority, with budget-friendly fare ($1.25). Pickup is at the airport (Lower Level, Zone B4). It goes directly to downtown with stops including Union Passenger Terminal (a 15-minute walk or short Uber/Lyft to the hotel blocks).
  • JeT E1 Veterans‑Airport Bus / JeT E2 Airline‑Airport Bus — Run by Jefferson Transit (JeT). Pickup is on the upper (departure) level of the terminal — just follow the “Public Transit” signs. Both routes head into New Orleans. Fare is $2.00 and payment is accepted via coins or value-card. Jefferson Parish Transit+2Jefferson Parish Transit+2

We recommend double-checking the schedule (especially if your flight lands late or very early), and keeping exact change or using the transit app, “Le Pass,” when paying.

Getting Around Downtown

Once you’re settled in, you might want to take the Street Car and explore New Orleans before or after the symposium’s scheduled sessions. The Street Car can take you uptown to the beautiful Garden District, Audubon Park, Tulane’s Uptown Campus, and other exciting destinations. To gain access to our public buses and historic Street Car, see the RTA website below and download the “Le Pass” App on your phone to buy a $1.25 ticket, which works for both Street Car and buses.
